SINCE 2009

Small help, close to home.

We are a neighbourhood charity working three streets at a time — food, tutoring and a warm room, run by people who live here.

What we do

Three programmes, one neighbourhood

Food share

A weekly pantry, open to anyone who needs it, with no form to fill in and no questions asked at the door.

After-school tutoring

Two hours of quiet, a desk and someone patient, four afternoons a week during term.

The warm room

Tea, company and a radiator from November to March — the simplest thing we do, and the most used.

Last year, together

4,180 food parcels

Packed and handed over on Tuesdays and Thursdays, by ninety-six volunteers.

312 children tutored

Four afternoons a week through term, with no waiting list at any point.

1,900 warm afternoons

From November to March, at about ninety pounds a week in gas.

Our promise

Every pound stays on these streets

We publish our accounts in full each April. Eighty-seven pence in every pound goes directly to the three programmes above; the rest keeps the lights on and the van running.

No campaign has ever been run from this office with money raised for a different one.

Could you spare a Tuesday?

Most of our volunteers started by covering one shift and never quite stopped. Come and see what a morning looks like.
